Don’t Take Anything for Granted when You Book Comedian Entertainers
January 21st, 2012Whenever you book comedian entertainers, you should take nothing for granted. You may get a recommendation about a certain comedian, but don’t believe everything you hear. You must check out the person for yourself or you run the risk of hiring a lame duck instead of a funny stand-up comic. Anyone you hire should have a decent resume with enough relevant experience in the business. It’s all right to hire someone at the start of their career, because every comedian needs to start somewhere. But make sure that the person can handle the pressure of performing at your event. In addition, you should always check references to find out what other paying clients say about the performer. You can bet that if they paid for the comedian’s services and weren’t happy with the show, they will tell you. If the references are positive, you still need to watch video clips of the comedian’s act. This is the only way to get a good feel for the comedian’s skill level and personality. Once you’ve found a talented entertainer, be sure to obtain a signed contract that spells out all the arrangements, fees, and conditions.
