Shopping Tips
- All clothing items must be hung on a wire hanger. Items hung on the hanger should match your sales tag. You do not want to hang multiple things on the same hanger w/ diff. price tags. For example: if you are selling 3 onesies for $3 then, all three onesies should be hung on one hanger. However, if you are selling 3 onesies for $1.50 each, then each onesies should be hung on a separate hanger w/ its own tag. Please reach out to me if you have any questions regarding this.
- If you have not registered for your check in time please do so a.s.a.p. This will help tremendously with planning for next week.
- If you have not begun to check in your items yet. Please do so a.s.a.p. This too will help with planning the space accordingly.
- Remember you can list all things for the keiki as long as it is in like new or gently used condition. This extends to toys, sports equipment, games, toys, school uniforms, backpacks, maternity wear, etc. So, look around the house for anything else you may want to clear out.
Here are some tips to help you prepare to SHOP and know what to expect:
- The earlier you shop, the better your selection. Therefore, it is to your great advantage to volunteer and earn early shopping privileges. Are you selling only? If so, then you will be the 2nd group allowed entry into the sale. For more info regarding the shopping times and "privileges".
- Shop Saturday for the best bargains! Select items will be 1/2 price on Saturday. The above shopping privileges apply to this day as well. Follow link above for more info.
- Inspect your purchases carefully as all sales are final. We will screen merchandise as it comes in, but allow for human error and check stuff again before you buy it.
- Bring a laundry basket, small cart, large shopping bag to carry all the stuff you are going to be buying. If you get something you can drag or pull then your hands will be free for easier shopping. (hint: Tie a belt to your laundry basket and you can just drag it around!)
- Bring your children's measurements as you will not be able to try on any of the clothing or shoes at this sale. One neat thing my friend used to do is have her kids step on a piece of cardboard. She’d draw around their feet and cut it out. Voila! You have a way to make sure that the shoes you are buying will fit them.
- If at all possible - leave the kids at home! Swap out babysitting with another mom. You'll be doing a lot of browsing, and many times the toys are just too much of a temptation for little people. When space is tight and crowds are thick, a stroller or keiki becomes a hindrance to really focus and find the great items and deals you are there to buy.
- Cash and Credit/Debit only for payment-We will not be accepting checks.
- By state law, Mommy Swap Meet Events must collect sales tax. We will have our tax ID on display.
Lastly, remember if you have any questions or thoughts please don't hesitate to ask. It's a first for many and that's what I am here for J.
