Landline Phone – Are You Cancelling This Service?

February 1st, 2012

Desmond Carlisle | LinkedInWhich do you prefer – cellular or landline phone? If you are a phone user who finds the mobile phone more applicable to your needs, you might consider the landline phone a redundant facility that wastes money. When you want to cut your landline services, you can do so as long your contract is already expired.

Start by calling your landline service provider to inform the company of your desire to disable your landline number. In order to call your landline provider, you have to check the company’s Customer Service Call Center. This is where your request is lodged. The hotline number can be found in your billing statement.

Once you speak to the Call Center representative, you should explain well the kind of service you wish to disable. If your landline phone is bundled with other services such as internet or cable TV, you have to check if cancelling your landline phone affects the tenure of the other services bundled with it. It is imperative that you stress your desire to keep the other services except the home phone. You will be asked for your account number so you have to be ready with this. As this account number is specified in your billing statement, this statement should come handy as you speak with the customer service representative. Before you end your conversation with the representative of the phone company, request for a hard copy of the confirmation of the cancellation of your landline services.
